We very much enjoyed our 8 day/7 night cruise to Cuba, and consider this a great way to get a quick overview of the country. The Celestyal Cruise ship was a comfortable size, not too large to be overwhelming. The staff, consisting of people from over 25 countries, were very pleasant and helpful. The ship itself, although obviously a bit old, was kept in immaculate condition. Food at the 2 main restaurants was okay for dinner. There was excellent entertainment on board with a lot of variety, We were fortunate to get a cabin with a balcony and it was a great way to enjoy the cruise.
The package by Leisure for Pleasure Holidays and Tours included excursions and a on board drinks package, making this a great bargain. All excursions were well organized with excellent buses and great tour guides. We went to 4 ports that provided very different views of the country and allowed us to appreciate the history and the people. We could have spent a longer time in the interesting city of Havana, but at least the cruise gave us a taste so we can plan a longer trip in the future.
From our discussions with many people since we returned, there is great interest in this cruise. We hope it will be available in the future. Hopefully there will be a ship with more balcony and window cabins.
